Takeaways from the 08/14/2024 Meeting

At the August 14th negotiations meeting, the HACCEA Negotiations Committee informed HACC administration that they will file for “fact finding.” This option is detailed in ACT 195, Article VIII: https://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/LI/uconsCheck.cfm?txtType=HTM&yr=1970&sessInd=0&smthLwInd=0&act=195&chpt=8
In short, this will lead to a vote on the “fact finding” report and if passed by both parties could become a contract this fall. We plan to discuss the procedures of “fact finding” and the expected timeline during our 8/21 Negotiations Town Hall meeting (see details below). ALL faculty who are eligible for union membership are invited to attend. This is an important development, and we encourage all faculty to attend. Please remember that only union members can vote on the “fact finding” report, which could become our contract.
Please plan to attend our important meeting on Wednesday (8/21) from 6pm – 7pm. All faculty are also welcome to remain after the meeting from 7pm - 7:15pm for a brief Executive Council update about ongoing union issues.
